Here is a very moving account of an interpreter's experience in the aftermath of the May 12 mass immigration raid at a meatpacking plant in Iowa. It is a powerful and well told story, which captures some of the pain and injustice attendant upon using the criminal process to address our nation's immigration crisis. This story reminds us that just because our modern sprawling criminal law can be used in many settings, and just because we have invested huge resources and developed many well equipped units anxious to address all kinds of situations, does not mean that we should turn to that blunt tool as often as we do. Thanks to our friends at CrimProf for this.

We should work be such a significant source of human satisfaction.A good share of the answer rest in the kind of pride that is stimulated by the job , by the activity of accomplishing. (Leonard R.Sayles, British writer)
